Departments

Haematology

The Department of Haematology focuses on the study of blood and its disorders. Our services include:

  • Complete Blood Count (CBC): Evaluating red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets to diagnose anemia, infections, and blood disorders.
  • Coagulation Studies: Assessing blood clotting factors to diagnose bleeding disorders and monitor anticoagulant therapy.

Biochemistry

The Department of Biochemistry is dedicated to analyzing bodily fluids and tissues to assess health and disease. Our services include:

  • Biochemical Analysis: Comprehensive testing of blood, urine, and other bodily fluids to assess organ function, diagnose diseases, and monitor treatment efficacy.
  • Metabolic Screening: Evaluating metabolic processes to identify genetic disorders, nutritional deficiencies, and metabolic imbalances.
  • Specialized Assays: Offering a range of specialized tests such as hormone assays, tumor markers, and cardiac markers for precise diagnosis.

Pathology

The Department of Pathology examines tissues and cells to diagnose diseases. Our services include:

  • Histopathology: Examining tissue samples under the microscope to diagnose cancers and other diseases.
  • Cytopathology: Analyzing cells from fluids or tissue samples to diagnose infections, tumors, and inflammatory conditions.
  • Frozen Section Analysis: Providing rapid intraoperative pathological assessments to guide surgical decision-making.

Microbiology

The Department of Microbiology investigates infectious agents and helps guide treatment decisions. Our services include:

  • Culture and Sensitivity Tests: Identifying bacteria, fungi, and viruses from clinical samples to guide antibiotic therapy.
  • Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing: Determining the most effective antimicrobial agents for treating infections.
  • Molecular Diagnostics: Utilizing PCR and other molecular techniques to detect pathogens with high sensitivity and specificity.

High Frequency Digital X-ray

Our Digital X-ray Department utilizes advanced imaging technology to provide high-quality diagnostic images with reduced radiation exposure. Our services include:

  • General Radiography: Imaging bones, chest, abdomen, and joints for diagnosing fractures, infections, and other conditions.
  • Specialized Imaging: Performing contrast studies for detailed evaluation of organs and blood vessels.
  • Portable X-ray Services: Offering bedside imaging for patients who cannot be transported to the radiology department.

Serology

Serology is the scientific study of serum and other body fluids. In practice, the term usually refers to the diagnostic identification of antibodies in the serum.

Serological tests are diagnostic methods that are used to identify antibodies and antigens in a patient’s sample. Serological tests may be performed to diagnose infections and autoimmune illnesses

Echo Cardio Gram (ECG)

The Department of Echo Cardio Gram (ECG) offers advanced cardiovascular imaging services using state-of-the-art technology.

  • Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE): Utilizes ultrasound to create detailed images of the heart’s chambers and valves for diagnosing conditions like valve abnormalities and heart failure.
  • Doppler Echocardiography: Measures blood flow velocities within the heart to assess valve function and detect abnormalities in blood flow, aiding in the diagnosis of heart valve diseases.
  • Stress Echocardiography: Combines echocardiography with physical stress to evaluate heart function during increased workload, assisting in the diagnosis of coronary artery disease and myocardial viability.
